I have been fortunate enough to obtain a Masters Degree from Grand Valley, Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University and an Associates degree from Muskegon Community College.

I have taught several different subjects since coming to the high school in 2001. Before coming to Shelby High School I taught at the elementary and middle school level.

My husband and I have raised 7 very interesting children and are now enjoying our 11 grandchildren. During high school I worked for a fast food restaurant and a children's clothing store.  After graduation from Muskegon High School I worked for an automotive shop where I learned many useful facts from the mechanics while taking night classes at Muskegon Community College.  I then moved to Oceana County where I worked for the Oceana Bank.  After my first two children were born I quit my job to be a stay at home mother.  I loved the time  I was able to spent at home with our family.  When all of the children were in school I started working for Hart Public Schools as a Chapter 1 Paraprofessional. After working in a school for 2 years I decided to go back to college.  Going to college while having a family at home was difficult.  However, I will never regret the decision to return to school.

I love making and creating things.  When I am not at school I like to garden, sew, make jewelry, cook/can, paint, make gazing balls, metal flowers and woodwork. I am always learning how to make or create something new and love to use this knowledge to help others.
