2018 New Year's Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

It is the time of year when many of us take a moment to set goals for the new calendar year. Although it is not the beginning of the school year, it is never too late to make goals and resolutions for school. This is an ideal opportunity for students to rededicate themselves to college and career readiness.

Perhaps a student will want to dedicate more time to homework and preparing for tests. Freshmen can focus on building a strong understanding of subject matter along with a solid grade point average for future years. Sophomores may look at goals that lead them to consider future careers and researching the coursework that leads to success in those careers.

Juniors could consider spending regular time in the coming months on the free SAT preparation program available to them in anticipation of the scheduled SAT test in April. Juniors will also want to begin considering which colleges or career programs to apply to in the fall. Seniors might dedicate themselves to scholarship applications and finalizing plans for after graduation.

What might your student resolve to do in 2018?
